Usually 30 minutes with the nurse, then 30 minutes with the doctor and a further 30-40 minutes for the exercise ECG.
A report, highlighting recommendations (but respecting confidentiality), is sent to the employer and employee. This will recommend future actions including further testing or whether an employee should seek further advice. It may also mean that their Private Medical Insurance policy can be used to provide specialist treatment.
Once the blood tests and ECG results are returned, the doctor will write back with a personalised letter summarising the consultation and findings, within two weeks.
All information gathered by a Health Screening is only used for that purpose. The employee must give their permission for information to be stored by NUOH but even then it will never be used to asses the suitability for insurance products.
The employee must also give their permission for the report to be sent to the employer.
Because of the need to have no food for 12 hours before the blood test, screenings are usual carried out in the morning, however appointments are fully flexible and can be fitted in with the individual's needs.
